What happens when you’ve done everything right and still end up with a joker?

Former child gymnast and survivor of scandal, Harleen Quinzel makes a new life for herself as a promising psychiatrist with the love and support of her parish and best friend, Lillian. As those relationships erode, Harleen finds solace in her new patient, Mr. Arthur Fleck, who convinces her that the world is crazy, not him. This good-girl-gone-bad story explores the psyche of how a woman ends up compromising her morals, worth, and integrity for a comic.

This screenplay is inspired by the “Joker” movie. I watched the movie on opening night Friday. By Monday, I had written the first ten pages because I felt like as the movie ended, it was the perfect opportunity to introduce Dr. Harleen Frances Quinzel. This screenplay has been read by the Naked Angels Miami Chapter and received positive reviews. Two of the actors have graciously volunteered to present this cold reading for you. A shelter-in-place project.

Perhaps Sony and DC can collaborate again.
